It screamed, a high, wild, railing shriek that cracked the young earth beneath and rattled the net of sound encasing it. For a moment the song faltered, the singers already weary and broken, and it arched in an increased frenzy, twisting, wheeling, winding. It raised its own voice in the brief quiet, and spat a song of stilted, grating notes, danced a macabre whirl that defied rhythm and beat and constraint.   
But for its fear they had sorrow, for its panic they had mistrust, and for its anger they had hatred. Their song grew once more, louder and stronger and spre 70: Bitter Silence

You are tree fog and sloping smile  intangibility  and sprayed shoulder-wings.   
A gutter snake and a strut along the fence-line  or the vertebrae of bounded bark  from your place to mine.   
Mothered tongue sharpened with apples  like a pencil made of cornstalks  
like a whetstone made of shredded rubber.   
You are insidious arsenal  and you mark the passage  with a werewolf waning. 48: Everyday Magic

31: ColoursShe handed it over one day,  something not quite familiar.  A crayon that was muskateered,  with the slender green-plastic gun  lined with stiff cartridges of interchangeable lead  ready to assault empty lines.  Some were missing already,  under couches and caravans and cat bowls,  but she handed it over so that we might enjoy it  as she once did.  Another scuffed memory  another cast thread  another formulaic equation for eternity.
